Aphoria™ didn't begin in an office or during some picture-perfect moment of inspiration. It began in a car late at night while my fiancé and I were driving home from the hospital. We were exhausted, frustrated, and overwhelmed with how unfair and heavy life felt. Like most people, we were doing our best even when nothing felt stable.

We were doing DoorDash just to earn extra income. Money was tight, bills were stressful, and life felt like a constant battle. In the middle of that stress, my fiancé looked at me and said, "Let's make an app." Not as a joke but as a real desire to create something meaningful. On that drive home, we started talking about names, ideas, and what kind of app could actually make a difference. That's when the name came: Aphoria a space for clarity, for support, for calm.

From that moment on, I started building Aphoria™ myself, piece by piece. Every screen, every feature, every idea came from a place of lived experience. And through it all, one person stayed in my heart: my mother.

My mother is a single parent who raised me alone after leaving Haiti. She didn't speak English. She worked jobs below minimum wage. She saved four months just to buy me a $500 iPad. She stressed over bills she didn't have enough for, borrowed money when she had no other choice, and carried more responsibility than anyone should have to. When COVID hit, she lost her job and drained her entire 401k just to keep us afloat.

Her strength shaped me. Her struggles opened my eyes. And the truth is, she's not the only one.

Millions of people mothers, fathers, students, immigrants, gig workers, young adults are drowning quietly in responsibilities, stress, financial pressure, and burnout.

That reality is what transformed Aphoria™ from an idea into my mission. I wanted to build something that gives people what my mother never had: real support, clarity, structure, and calm. Something that helps people like me, my fiancé, and every person who ever felt like life was too much.

Aphoria™ may not reach every person in the world, but for the people it does reach if it makes their life lighter, calmer, or more manageable that will be enough to make me die happy.

Aphoria™ is built from love, struggle, hope, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance at calm.

Aphoria™ was created by two people who were tired of watching life break people down tired of seeing families struggle, students burn out, young adults drown in responsibilities, and immigrants fight to survive without support.

Together, we wanted to build something real.
Something human.
Something that actually helps.

My fiancé helped spark the idea in that car ride…
and I took that spark and built Aphoria™ from the ground up.
